Our story
Like most parents, we started by buying whatever was recommended: familiar brand names, whatever the shop pushed, whatever other children already had. Over time, we noticed something interesting. The same toy that a child could not put down was ignored completely by another. That changed the way we looked at toys. We began to understand that the value of a toy is not defined by its price or its packaging. What matters is how well it fits a particular child's age, temperament, and interests.
This sparked a deeper curiosity. We started learning about how toys are made, what they are made of, and what actually decides whether one survives a year of play. We looked at different kinds of play, what each one develops, and what parents said after living with them.
But our learning did not stop with reading and research. For years, we have bought and used a wide range of toys at home. We watched the same toy across different ages, moods, and seasons. We paid attention to what held attention, what broke, and what quietly got played with every single day. Through this, one thing became clear. Not every toy is made for every child. Just as children have different temperaments, they are suited to different kinds of play.
As time passed, a question naturally came to mind. What if the knowledge we gained, the lessons we learned, and the money we wasted along the way could help other parents choose better? That question became the beginning of Khelnar Dokan.
We are trying to bring forward toys that we genuinely rated through our own use and observation. We do not claim to know every child, nor to have the final word on any toy. Our goal is simply to stock things we believe are well made, worth the money, and worth a child's time.
